Through the Years!

Happy 14 Year Anniversary!

It has been 14 years since Don and I got married.  It was January 29th 2000.  It was warm and sunny in Tanzania.  Our friendship and spiritual development has come a long way in that time.  It never ceases to amaze me how much God cares about every detail of our lives.

Don was in his thirties when he answered the call to Tanzania,18 years ago.  He had been a truck driver for K&B drugstore.  He was single and happy to remain single for- the first 4 years of his life in Tanzania.  He started to pray for a wife and the day I landed, God told Don that I was the answer to his prayer!

Our dear friend Emma Showalter made this cake for us.

Here are just a few photos of us through the years:
Arusha
Fishing at a friend's home in Arkansas.

This is the only time Don and I went on a day safari through Tarangeri National Park.

A precious moment in London
This is with Kilimanjaro in the background.  It was our trip back to Tanzania from the flight landing in Kenya.

The last 14 years have flown by.  The best is yet to come.  We only have 2 weeks before we take off for an 11 week trip in the USA.  We will land in Kansas City. Our plans include:  Adrian, to spend time with my mom;  Hot Springs to visit friends and churches as well as to see Don's mom; Texas, New Orleans, Slidell, Shreveport, Magnolia, Hot Springs, Adrian, Kansas City.  Please pray for new doors to open and that we will be refreshed and renewed in our vision.

God bless,
Mary and Don

A Day in Arusha

A photo from 2008
The Ministry of New Life Outreach is a very busy ministry.  Most people never see what goes on behind the scenes in Arusha.  I also want to introduce you to all of our co-ministers that keep everything running here this month.

Tim Cannon is the newest addition to New Life Outreach.  He is busy making a box to protect some delicate equipment.

The equipment truck is being off loaded to check all the crusade speakers and electronic equipment before the next road trip.  There is lots to do before February.

Shani and Angelo keep the sound equipment working.

Don has been  in charge of the mechanic department for 18 years.  Elia is helping to fix the brakes from one of the vehicles.
Don is very happy to have Elia.  Elia is a good driver and mechanic.  A rare combination in Tanzania.

Jemimah Mollel is the Children's pastor.  She is hard at work with preparing for the school and children's ministry.
Rosie is one of the cooks.
Rose Shemehonge is the head cook.

Mary and Hilda are the secretaries for New Life Outreach.

Nkongi Emmanuel is the Translator for the ministry.

Anna keeps the office spic and span

Deborah keeps the grounds and other areas clean

The front gate is manned by one of the guards.  We have 3 full time guards as well as emergency security services to keep the office compound safe.

Don and I have less than a month before we take off for the States.  We will be there for 11 weeks.  There is a lot of work to be done before we leave.  Thanks for praying with us!

This is just a reminder of how He loves! Our lives are intricate

living scripts. There are ebbs and flows that we will fully

understand when we see the Author of our lives face to face. He

is always good, even when we can't see it. I could have never

made up what my life has been so far, and the best is yet to

 come!

 Happy New Year!

In Him,
Mary and Don
