Ministry in Sherati

Don and the team were on the road for 13 days.  They traveled to Sherati, a town very close to the Kenya boarder.  Sherati was a small town, but the response to the Gospel was not.  There were 1300 people who filled out cards that they were either getting saved or giving their hearts back to God!  Praise HIM!

Don was playing with the children.
I don't know who is cuter....Don or the children of Sherati.

Don had to deal with one setback.  The trailer brakes, on his truck were not working.  After many hours of work, he figured out that the problem was some spare parts he had just replaced.  The parts were bad.  This is one of the frustrations he has to face on a regular basis.  There are lots of fake cheap parts that are sold as original.

This is what happens when the teenagers have a week off from school....The boys spring a rubber snake on Lilian.....I have to take some of the blame.  I bought the snake to wake up one of the Bible College students that keeps falling asleep in class.

Don is going on another ministry trip on Monday.  He is heading to a very small village with Paul Troquille, Reggie Moffett, and Dru Brents.  Please pray for them.

This was from my devotional time this week:Steve Hill, "In order to weep in the fields, we must first move to the field. Sadly most of us never make it past the front gate. Watchman Nee, once wrote, "In a world system darkened with the smoke of the pit, how we rejoice to meet saints who are fresh with the clean air of heaven".

The religious leaders clamored and complained about Jesus' life style, constantly spitting accusations against Him. "This man receives sinners and eats with them," they protested (Luke 15:2), And indeed, Jesus was guilty as charged. He lived in the smoking section. His garments were constantly darkened by the smoke of the pit, while His heart remained clean with the fresh air of heaven.

"Likewise, Watchman Nee spent abundant time, with sinners, he too lived in the smoking section. And he knew how refreshing it is to have a clean shower from heaven after a long, hard day of toil in the dusty fields on earth.  Are you consumed with the plight of man? Do you dine with deceivers? Can you converse with the condemned? Are you a friend of sinners? Do you often smell like smoke? " We ought to weep because we have no tears for the lost", proclaimed Leonard Ravenhill. "We ought to get down before God and repent that we've no broken heart. A wet-eyed preacher can never preach a dry-eyed sermon."
Steve Hill, Time to Weep, pages 170-171

"Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”  (Jude 1:22, 23 NIV)

Tanzania Life and Ministry

The creativity of Tanzanians is so amazing.  I have seen wooden bicycles too!
The vast majority of Tanzanians do not have electricity.  This iron uses charcoal.
There are many farmers in the area near us.  They work hard to provide for their families.

The Masai tribe live in Tanzania

Don and I had the honor to minister at God's Love Church.  This is just a compilation of video clips from the service.  I ministered on the Holy Spirit, and Don on healing.

Please pray for the team as they prepare for the ministry in Sherati, Tanzania.  It is located on the boarder of Lake Victoria and very close to Kenya.  It is a town of about 50,000 people.  This is a map:
Cute children from Sherati.  Don took this photo on Saturday.

Let us know if we can pray for you!  I continue to meet with Mary's Little Lambs on Thursdays.  They are prayer warriors!

May God bless you!

Sing Unto The Lord!

New Life Outreach ministers together with the Academy of Leadership students, May 11, 2014

Sunday I took time to take video of the worship and praise at New Life City Church.  I thought you may enjoy the videos.

This is from December.  Praise time in Tanzania is really vibrant.

Don and the team are in a flurry of preparation for the next ministry trip.  He has 10 days to get all the vehicles ready for the trip to Shirati.  Please pray for them.  It is a lot of very hard work!

There may be someone who needs encouragement today.  This is for you:
You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord , make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:7, 8 ESV)

No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. (Romans 4:20, 21 ESV)

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
(James 1:12 ESV)

May God bless you in ways you never imagined!
In Him,
Mary and Don

Burning bright in Tanzania

Jorge was from one of the first graduating classes of New Life Outreach Bible College.  I was one of the few teachers at the Bible College at the time, so I spent nearly every day with the class.  Jorge arrived from Mozambique, not knowing much English or Swahili.  I had my doubts about his ability to even manage the classes, but his hunger really showed me that those who want to learn, will find a way.

Jorge Moreira ministered at New Life City Church Sunday.  He greatly honored me in the service and even gave me and Don a gift.  It was an unexpected blessing.  Thank you Jorge!!!!!
His little girl was an energetic bundle of joy!!!!

Mary's Little Lambs came to our home last week.  I had Caleb lead worship.  We had an awesome time of worship, prayer, and study of the Word.

It has already been 10 days since we landed home in Tanzania.  Here are a few photos from our trip in the USA, that I didn't have time to share before we left:
My Mom
Down to one cup of coffee a day!
Wonderful times of ministry in New Orleans
FRIENDS!!!!!

"God ’s Message: “Don’t let the wise brag of their wisdom. Don’t let heroes brag of their exploits. Don’t let the rich brag of their riches. If you brag, brag of this and this only: That you understand and know me. I’m God, and I act in loyal love. I do what’s right and set things right and fair, and delight in those who do the same things. These are my trademarks.” God ’s Decree. "
Jeremiah 9:23, 24 MSG

Don and I would like to thank all of our friends.  It is impossible for us to name all who gave us a place to sleep, food to eat, and opportunities to minister.  Thanks again!
God bless,
Mary

The blur of time

Don and I are past the halfway point of our time in the USA.  It has been so busy, that this is the first morning that I have had a chance in a month to write.  It has been so good to see lots of friends and there have also been some awesome times of ministry.

This past weekend was no exception.  We were invited to an inner city outreach, in New Orleans.  We couldn't say no.  We had time to share God's love and have some fun.  There were some barbers there doing free hair cuts, so I talked Don into letting someone other than me cut his hair...let's just say, he actually looks better than he has in a long time...hehehe

This trip to the states has been very unusual.  Don and I have reconnected with people we haven't seen in years- from 15-33 years!  It has been great to see them.

10 days in the USA

Looking tough or ridiculous?
10 days ago....wow!  We took off from Tanzania to start our 11 week USA trip.  It was 94 degrees when we departed Africa....we had a couple of hours in Amsterdam and then landed in Minneapolis airport for a 6 hour layover.  We found a quiet place to take a nap and then went walking in one of America's largest airport malls.  That is how I ended up on the Harley.

It is funny how my body can be in the USA, but my mind and heart are thinking about my little Lambs and Tanzania.  Here are a few things I was remembering this morning.  Pray for us as we continue traveling through different states.

Here is a link to a great little video that Jackson made for us right before we left Tanzania.  It is really a very small snapshot of some of what we do.  The video would need to be much longer if we showed you everything we do....
